Self-archiving Policies

Crop Biotechnology supports open access and the broad dissemination of scientific knowledge. Therefore, the journal permits authors to archive different versions of their manuscripts in personal, institutional, or public repositories under specific conditions.

Versions eligible for self-archiving:

  • Preprint (before peer review):
Authors may upload the original version of the manuscript (prior to peer review) to preprint servers, institutional repositories, or personal websites. This version must be clearly labeled as a “Preprint” and must not be confused with the final published version.

  • Accepted Manuscript (Postprint):
Authors are allowed to archive the peer-reviewed and accepted version (prior to typesetting and formatting by the journal) in personal or institutional repositories. A complete citation of the final published version and a link to the article’s DOI on the journal’s website must be provided.

  • Published Version (Publisher’s PDF):
The final version formatted by the journal may be posted on the author's personal or institutional website, as long as a full citation and a direct link to the official webpage of the article on the journal website are included.

Conditions and Restrictions:

  • A complete and accurate citation must accompany all archived versions, including the journal name, authors, year, volume, issue, page numbers, and DOI.

  • The self-archived version must not be presented in a way that may cause confusion with the version of record.

  • Any modifications or revisions to the archived versions must be clearly indicated.

  • Self-archiving must comply with the terms of the journal’s CC BY 4.0 license.
